Advent 2025

Advent is coming! I love Advent music and I hope you do too. I find much of our “Popular” Christmas music is actually Advent music. You’ve heard “Christmas is coming the goose is getting fat…..” As far as I can see, even that’s an Advent song. As you listen to your favorite Christmas carols this year, take a moment and listen more closely. Perhaps it’s actually an Advent carol and you didn’t even realize it.

God Bless and Happy Advent!

Here is some music for Advent that may help your worship this Advent season.

Epiphany Cycle A

Based on Isaiah 60:1-6 and Matthew 2:1-12, “Song of the Magi” by Perry Kelly tells the journey of the Wise Men, written for use in church Christmas pageants, Epiphany celebrations, and other holiday gatherings. The song traces the Magi’s pilgrimage across desert sands, guided by a divine star toward the newborn King of Peace. With verses rich in biblical symbolism—gold for royalty, frankincense for priesthood, and myrrh for sacrifice—it honors Christ’s identity and destiny. The final stanza introduces a dramatic turn, as the Magi defy Herod’s deceitful request, choosing instead a path of divine protection. Blending worshipful tone with narrative depth, the song invites reflection on faith, obedience, and the mystery of incarnation.
